Buildings form the basis for Facility Management services. However, the first role played by FM should take place in the design phase. The working environment could then be set up to integrate seamlessly with the requirements of the primary process, ergonomics and sustainability. This would result in a highly productive staff, smooth Facility Management services and lower costs.
Earn money
It would not be correct to regard FM as a cost centre. Intelligent building based on knowledge of Facility Management will save money in future and can even be a means of income. The trick is to offset investments against the complete lifecycle of the building. The costs of future renovations can then be minimised by taking into account possible changes to the building’s purpose during construction.
